It is hard to believe it has been almost a decade since we moved into our home. We have done even more than when we first moved in, and those big and small projects have made a huge difference. One of the things we noticed this winter was just how dark some of our favorite areas were, even during the daylight. So after quite a bit of research, we upgraded our living room and kitchen lighting with stylish and functional rechargeable lighting solutions.
These super easy, 10 minutes (or less!) home improvements really changed our main living spaces. Plus, we all love that the lights are easily dimmable and have built in timers, so we don’t accidentally leave them on.
Wall Sconces: A Blend of Convenience and Style
These white Wall Sconces are rechargeable, battery-operated with both touch and remote-control functionality. They provide up to 10 hours of continuous lighting on the highest brightness setting and up to 30 hours on the lowest. This longevity means fewer recharges and more consistent light where we needed it. The sconces have three color temperature options, plus 15 color choices and 360° rotation. While we love the traditional light options, the dollhouse below often has a variety of colors.
From package opening to install, this took us less than 10 minutes, which included searching for batteries for the remote! I was initially surprised at how touch sensitive these were and did shine the brightest setting into my eyes more than once. These also arrived fully charged, though I checked to be sure. We opted for the removable adhesive option instead of the anchors and screws to let us make sure we had it in the best place by testing it for a few days. Ultimately, we like these so much we are considering ordering a few more for other art in other rooms.
Electric Candle Lighters: Safety Meets Modern Design
To complement our new wall sconces, we also added Electric Candle Lighters, which we used most extensively over the holidays. These rechargeable lighters are designed with safety mechanisms to prevent accidental ignition and are consistent in their lighting. I had hoped they would be a bit more windproof, as we tried to use them to light the sparklers for New Year’s Eve but the wind was too much. The long handle keeps hands safely away from any flame.
Magnetic Light Bar: Under Cabinet Lighting Upgrade
Expanding our lighting improvements beyond the living room, we installed these magnetic bar lights in our kitchen. These battery-operated and rechargeable, wireless lights provide light where I needed it most in the mornings, by the coffee maker! Just like the wall sconces, we were able to install these in less than 10 minutes after we checked to make sure they were fully charged. The adhesive backing combined with the magnetic removable light bar means we can take the bars down to charge without having to remove the adhesive. I particularly like that these light bars have a touch operation and a remote option. They are dimmable and also have an automatic timer to turn them off. The change in the mornings and evenings makes food prep so much easier.
Enhancing Ambiance and Functionality
Integrating these rechargeable lighting solutions have elevated the ambiance of our home. The adjustable lighting caters from me who likes it bright except in the late evenings and the rest of my family who like a slightly less bright room. I love that in less than a half hour, we created a flexible, cozy space in the areas where we spend the most time.
