Editor’s Note: Here at Dispatches, we are always looking for ways to help our readers do things. For some of our readers, that means helping navigate the working world, for others, it means assisting in the ever challenging question, “what’s for dinner?” For still others, it means figuring out how to balance family life with everything else. In an effort to aid in all of these endeavors, we have collaborated on this article written specifically for our readers.

As far as marketing is concerned, many business owners and solopreneurs are looking for the next new way to attract new customers. There are several ways you can promote your business while also offering value to your current and potential customers.

Create A Video
Creating a video for use on websites like YouTube is a great way to market your business. Create a video series that shares tips or tricks or how-tos. Figure out what your customers are doing with your product or service and share that information. Don’t focus on selling in these videos, instead focus on sharing and you’ll likely get a few new paying customers.

Create A Podcast
If creating a video is intimidating to you, consider a podcast as a host or a guest. There are benefits to doing both, as many entrepreneurs with podcasts speak on other podcasts. Making a podcast is relatively simple too. You need some basic recording equipment and a couple of microphones to get started. If the podcasts increase in listeners, you can consider finding a sponsor. You can also consider having your business sponsor another podcast.

Create A Smartphone App
The more technical of business owners may wish to create an app. For those that are not so technical, there are tutorials online to teach you to create a basic app. Having an app that is interactive, informative and looks great can help your customers remember your business and interact with you more often. The trick is to create an app that has a purpose and isn’t just another game.

Consider a takeaway item
Everyone carries keys and if you’re like most Americans you have multiple keys and keep them on a keyring or keychain. A logoed and useful keyring can be a good marketing tool. You can hand them out for free at business markets or launch events or include one in every purchase. You can also consider creating a lanyard from Lanyards Factory’s ID Card Range in place of a keychain.
