Yes, your supervisor might micromanage you, but you have the flexibility to arrange your schedule as you please as long as you work 40 hours and that is more important to you. If your pros outweigh your cons (either in number or importance) this might help you find a way to be happier in your current position.
Take into consideration more than just pay and management style. Does your office provide lunch occasionally? Is there always enough tea and coffee in the break room? Do you ever run out of office supplies? Once you get beyond the things you hate, you might realize that your current position isn’t so bad after all.
And don’t throw this list away just because you decide to start looking for another position. You will want to be able to refer to it in the future. Does the new position offer more of the things you like? Use it as a checklist for determining (as best as you can) whether or not making a change would make you happier. A good list can help you make a better informed decision.
insightful!
Thanks, Lora!
