Enjoy Life

I’m usually the first to remind college students that their life for those four or five years will follow them into the professional world and can have devastating repercussions. That all students should be wary of what they post online and what information they share. I still firmly believe that the only way to protect yourself against potential problems is to be proactive.

However, at this point in the year, I think it is also a good time to remind students to ENJOY themselves. College is the last time in your life your world is defined by breaks. Thanksgiving break, holiday break, spring break and summer break. You’re free to travel and have little or no responsibilities during that time. College is the last time you can be reasonably carefree and the last time you’ll have the energy to stay up all night. Don’t forget to have fun.

There are at least 30 years of working ahead of you. Spend time doing the things you love now before you regret it later. Just make sure the camera phones and status updates stay future employer-worthy.

About Aurora

My father named me after Sleeping Beauty. The princess theme stuck. Unfortunately, the only castle I can claim is the one in Disney Land. These are the musings of a princess without minions, knights or fairy tales. I have to do my own bidding.

The views in this blog are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer or clients.
