This time my fix arrived on a Friday afternoon, so my favorite office fashionistas didn’t get to share their thoughts on the pieces.
First thoughts: I again was specific and said solid colors, no tank tops and work appropriate. This box only had two shirts and while both were technically v-neck shirts, they weren’t at all what I was going for in an outfit. It’s like the stylist didn’t read my comments on the required Pinterest pages or the blog post I suggested she take a few minutes to read. I’m not sure what I actually expected, but this box was not it. Despite knowing that the pieces weren’t going to work for me, I tried everything on just to make sure.
I wore the Level 99 Glenda Straight Leg Jean in all of the looks. I did not expect the jeans to fit, but they we the right length, but unfortunately too low-rise to wear to the office and the whisking near the pockets make it look like the jeans are pulling, but they are not.
Jean verdict: Sent back.
Item: Market & Spruce Alan French Terry Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan
Look suggestions:
Opinion: I actually already own a very similar cardigan as I indicated on the Pinterest board. Though this one was incredibly soft and VERY comfortable, I couldn’t justify spending $68 for a cardigan I already own.
Verdict: Sent back.
Item: Pixley Edmond Chevron Print Henley Shirt
Look suggestions:
Opinion: I really liked the weight, cut and fit of this shirt, but the pattern is dizzying and I would never wear it.
Verdict: Sent back.
Item: Market & Spruce Forster Henley Top.
Look suggestions:
Opinion: I hated this shirt from the moment I pulled it out of the box. I knew it wasn’t going to fit and was going to look terrible. It’s almost like my stylist didn’t even look at my body type or read the comments about what kind of life place I’m at when she sent me this shirt.
Verdict: Sent back as fast as I possibly could.
Item: Market & Spruce Kristah Ruffle Knit Blazer
Look suggestions:
Opinion: I REALLY wanted to like this blazer, it was comfortable. It was black, it was different that all of my other blazers, but it was also a size too small and hit at odd places.
Verdict: Sent back.
Final thoughts: I really wanted to like something from this box, but every item was a miss. Some of them were near misses, but every item missed the mark. I’ll give Stitch Fix one more try and see what they send in September. I’m certain that if my stylist takes just about 5 minutes to read my comments on my board and read my review, I will end up with something I like. Keep your fingers crossed!
